Edith-J-White-estate-attorney-San-Diego1-257x300Edith J. White has over 40 years of legal experience as a Probate Attorney, an Estate Planning Attorney and an Estate Administration Attorney, among other areas of practice.

She graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1979 and was admitted to practice law the same year. (Her Bachelor of Arts Degree was awarded from the University of Minnesota in 1967.) Edith has been a lawyer practicing as a sole practitioner her entire career.

Edith represents individuals, spouses and domestic partners, and families, some for three generations in a row. Many of her Estate Planning clients start with an Estate Plan, then require Estate Administration as years pass, when a Trustor becomes incapacitated or dies. Often a Trustor’s children or another named Successor Trustee retains Edith for Estate Administration services.

Edith’s clients include Testators, Trustors (also known as Grantors and Settlors), Trustees, Principals and Agents under Powers of Attorney (both Financial and Health Care related), Beneficiaries, Heirs, Executors and Administrators.

Edith is a lawyer who is very responsive to her clients’ family and life situations, needs and wishes. She partners with her clients to create their estate plans and their administration of those plans. Her legal fees are fair and competitive. She provides an initial complimentary (free) consultation for up to one-half hour, preferring an in-office visit to meet personally with potential clients. A questionnaire is provided to be completed prior to the first meeting for review at the initial consult, providing more time for discussion of crucial issues.

Edith is currently House Counsel in planned giving for Foster Care Children and Family Fund, Inc. which operates internationally.

Some of Edith’s past and present participation in organizations include:

  • BAR Association of California, member since 1979
  • NAMI-San Diego (National Alliance on Mental Illness), past Board Member and Speaker (Special Needs Trusts) and current Member
  • TACHS (The Association for Community Housing Solutions) a San Diego non-profit organization developing independent living for the mentally ill. Past Board of Directors President, and Board Member.
