Estates and Trusts Administration
Edith J. White has over 30 years of legal experience as a Probate Attorney, as an Estates and Trusts Attorney, and as an Estates and Trusts Administration Attorney. She graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1979 and was admitted to practice law in California the same year. (Her Bachelor of Arts Degree was awarded from the University of Minnesota in 1967.) She has been a lawyer practicing as a sole practitioner her entire career, representing individuals, spouses and domestic partners, and families, some for three generations. Many of her Estate Planning clients begin with an Estate Plan, then require Estate Administration as years pass, when a client becomes incapacitated or dies. Often a client’s children or another named Successor Trustee retains her for Estate Administration services.
Edith’s clients include Testator’s (people making wills) , Trustors, also known as Grantors or Settlors (people establishing trusts), Trustees (people administering trusts), Principals and Agents under powers of attorney whether financial or health care related (people making or handling powers of attorney), Beneficiaries and Heirs (people inheriting), Executors and Administrators (people administering during court probates). Edith is very responsive to her clients’ family and life situations, needs and wishes. She partners with her clients to create their trusts and estates plans and their administration of those plans. She provides an initial complimentary (free) consultation for one-half hour, preferring an in-office visit to meet personally with potential clients. A questionnaire is provided to be completed prior to the first meeting for review at the initial consult, providing more time for discussion of crucial issues.
Edith is currently also pro bono In House Counsel in planned giving for Foster Care Children and Family Fund, Inc. which operates internationally in the United States, India, Liberia, Trinidad and the Philippines.
Some of Edith’s past and present participation in organizations include:
- BAR Association of California, member since 1979
